Don't Abort a Miracle

Fear will rob you

Fear is out to abort a miracle. Fear will rob you of a miracle. A good example of this is Job. Satan knew Job was protected, God knew Job was protected, but Job did not know he was protected.

Job began to develop a fixation. He began to sacrifice regularly whenever his children had completed their days of feasting in case his children had sinned. He did not know whether they had sinned or not, but he was afraid, so just in case they sinned he made sacrifices everyday. Here was a righteous man of God that got into a fixation of fear. He regularly made sacrifices to God because he was afraid of something that he feared may be true. Regularly, Job was in fear. Job may have been saved, but he was not sound. He wasn't full of faith when it came to his children.

Many people are saved, but they are not sound. They end up saying, "The thing that I fear the most has come upon me." They are not in the Bible searching out what God has promised to them or they would not be in fear. Faith comes by hearing the Word. They go around being afraid instead of knowing the promises of God and having faith to believe God for their lives.

Look at the man at the Pool of Bethesda. He said he had no one to help him get into the water when the angels came down to stir the water. That man had a fixation. He was obsessed with the idea that he couldn't get to the water in time to get his miracle. Jesus, the very Word Himself, God almighty, came to the man. He told Jesus he had no one to take him to the water. Jesus was the man's miracle. The man did not recognize the miracle that was standing beside him. His eyes were so focused on his problem instead of on the solution.

Some people go to revival focused on receiving from a certain evangelist. They fly everywhere following this one man to get a touch from God. Meanwhile, almighty God is standing right beside them. Jesus the Healer lives inside you. The very Word of God lives and abides within you — the Word that says, “by His stripes you were healed”. Jesus said His Word is Spirit and life. He asked the man at the Pool of Bethesda, "Will you be made whole?" Do you want to be made whole? Or are you satisfied with groaning and moaning? Are you satisfied to sit around and feel sorry about your situation? What are you proclaiming about your situation? Are you speaking the Word or fear?

A lot of people abort their miracle with their mouth. They talk so much that God cannot get a word in edgewise. The Bible says that no man can tame the tongue. Praise Jesus! He has the answer for our tongues. He sent us the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. The Holy Spirit can tame our tongues! When we recognize that our tongue isn't speaking the truth then we can repent and ask the Holy Spirit to tame it. He will do it, but we must yield to Him.

Many times when God spoke in the Old Testament He would begin His statement with "Fear not!” “Fear not for I am with you.” Fear not, for lo, I am here. “Fear not for I will never leave you or forsake you.” That's God's Word. In God's Word, there is no fear. “Perfect love casts out fear.” You cannot be afraid; fear will hinder you and keep you from a miracle. Even when Jesus came walking on the water to the disciples, He said, "Fear not!" God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but love, power and a sound mind.
