Think Like God: Heart Thoughts Will Surface

Heart Thoughts Will Surface

    "As a man thinks in his heart so is he (Prov. 23:7)".  It is very important to understand the setting of this Scripture in order to relate God's thoughts on the subject.  Notice the context in the passage below.

"When you sit down to eat with a ruler,
Consider carefully what is before you;
And put a knife to your throat
If you are a man given in appetite
Do not desire his delicacies,
For they are deceptive food.
Do not overwork to be rich;
Because of your own understanding, cease!
Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
Do not eat the bread of a miser;
Nor desire his delicacies;
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
"Eat and drink!" he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up,
And waste your pleasant words."
                                                Proverbs 23:1-8

    "Go ahead, eat and drink."  But his heart is not with you.  In other words, what you hear coming out of his mouth is not a true indication of what he is like on the inside.  All the time he is telling you to eat, but in his heart he resents having to give.  The point in all this is that his true thoughts will eventually surface.  His true thoughts have had years to take root; they cannot be hid by a few polite words like,"Go ahead and help yourself, eat and drink all you want."  In the end, you will be worse off by accepting his invitation.  The evil thoughts that have taken root in his heart will cause him to turn on you.

    Believe me; this principle is true in all people's lives.  People may be dealing with something on the inside that they think no one can see.  They will smile and laugh, but in their hearts they are anxious and depressed, always trying to cover up their true feelings.  It is these kinds of people who have ulcers and nervous breakdowns; everything that they are meditating on in their hearts finally comes pouring out in a huge eruption.  They can no longer hide, so the exact thing they were afraid would happen really does happen.  Whether it is a hurt from the past, or financial difficulties for the present, or anxiety over the future, we need to come clean before God, expose our hurts, worries, and anxieties, and allow God to replace our thoughts with His thoughts.

The Fragrance of Christ
By swordadmin @ 9:51 AM :: 1023 Views
  II Cor. 2:14-16,"But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.  For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life.  And who is adequate for these things?"

  We are to God the fragrance of Christ.  When God smells you what does he smell?  Does He smell the fragrance of the anointing upon your life?  Does He smell the Spirit of the Lord is upon you?  What is the fragrance of Christ?  What does the anointing come from on a person's life smell like?

Fear will rob you

Fear is out to abort a miracle. Fear will rob you of a miracle. A good example of this is Job. Satan knew Job was protected, God knew Job was protected, but Job did not know he was protected.

Avoid the Abortion Pill of Fear

A seed is anything that you can contribute to another such as an hour of your time, giving something to someone who needs it, kind words, friendship, loyalty, or money. Anything that you plant towards people or God's work is a seed. Seed faith is when you plant your seed with an expectation of a specific harvest. It is your seed planted in faith for specific results or a miracle. God planted His best seed, Jesus, to create a harvest, which is the family of God. He gave something He treasured but reaped an even greater result. His dream harvest was the body of Christ, His church. His seed was His Son, Jesus Christ.

Avoid the Abortion Pill of Doubt

The Bible says that the Word of God is living and powerful. It is sharper than a two-edged sword and cuts asunder and divides between spirit and soul and between the joints and the marrow. The Word of God discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12) One of the things that the Word will do is cut away doubt, unbelief, bitterness and unforgiveness. We must surrender to the Word of God and let it change our lives.

Today, we are going to talk about seed in relationship to doubt. One of the things that will abort a miracle is doubt. It will abort the seed that wants to produce a miracle.

Guard Your Mouth

Keep in mind it is important when a person becomes pregnant with the seed of God that they must be patient and guard their mouths.

"…And the perverted mouth I hate." (Proverbs 8:13b NAS)

"The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,…" (Proverbs 10:11 NAS)

What happened when the seed fell on the rocky ground?

"Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth."  "But when the sun was up it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away."  Mark 4:5-6 (NKJ)

The seed that fell on the rocky places are the people who hear the word and receive it with joy, but they have no firm root in themselves. They don't know who they are in Christ. They don't understand that it is possible to walk in love. When trouble comes because of the Word they are offended, become resentful, stumble and fall away.

Pregnant with A Miracle

The Bible says that God's Word is Spirit and life. Many times the Bible compares the Word to a seed. For example, the parable of the sower tells us that the seed the Sower sowed was the Word of the kingdom.
