Patterns of Revival

Patterns of Revival: Part 1
In one of our books, Think Like God, a statement is made concerning as a man thinketh, so is he, and that thoughts crystallize into habits and are ultimately revealed in circumstances!
Patterns of Revival: Part 2
In each long running revival, prayer produced great momentum. It electrified the atmosphere for great liberty and flow in the Spirit. In long running revivals with the greatest results, a minimum of one hour of prayer went up to the Lord before each service. For many years I traveled in Africa with a full time intercessor. Even while preaching on the stage in huge tent crusades, he would be in intercessory prayer. The effects of his prayers and the ability to open the windows of Heaven for greater manifestations were clearly felt.

Arthur Wallis points out in his classic study, In The Day of Thy Power

Numerous writings on the subject preserved confirm that revival is divine intervention in the normal course of spiritual things. It is God revealing Himself to man in awful holiness and irresistible power. It is such a manifest working of God that human personalities are overshadowed and human programs abandoned. It is man retiring into the background because God has taken the field. It is the Lord working in extraordinary power on saint and sinner. (p. 20)

Patterns of Revival: Part 4
There are several ingredients I have seen over the years that are vital to Revival!
Patterns of Revival: Part 5
Let's talk about the opposite side of ingredients necessary for Revival.
Patterns of Revival: Part 6
Honor can be defined as a keen sense of ethical conduct! There is also a sense of protocol, respect, honesty and truth that are all related to honor. Our conversation needs to be honorable among the Gentiles 1 Peter 2:17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the King. This is one of the reasons why Oral Roberts would not receive preacher discounts! I believe to really honor people we must do it with a good conscience in total obedience to the Holy Spirit.
Patterns of Revival: Part 7
John Gillies, in his 1795 classic Accounts of Revivals, noted what he perceived as the marks of a revivalist. Here is a summary of these characteristics:
Patterns of Revival: Part 8
In the last 15 years I have seen revivals where repentance was greatly needed. Revivals where New Wine flowed and many would be totally drunk in the Holy Spirit crawling on the floor in total laughter and joy.
Patterns of Revival: Part 9
God seeds produce God results. Over the years God has spoken to me concerning God Working With God. God only blesses God. God only anoints God. God only hears God. God only saves God. With over several hundred tapes dealing with this subject we understand very clearly that nothing impresses God but Himself.
