God in Your Mouth Article Two

All things were created by the Word which God spoke. Remember John chapter One tells us that the Word of God was in the beginning and was the Creator of all things. God’s Word is the creative force. We need to realize that if God had never spoke, creation would have never took place. Genesis chapter one, verse two says, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of god was hovering over the face of the waters.” At this point the Word of God had not been released. Darkness was still covering the face of the deep because The Word, which is Life and Light (John 1:4) had not yet been spoken. It is interesting to note, that the Word for “light” in the Hebrew has a numerical value affixed to it: that number is 613, which happens to be the same as the amount of commandments in the Law, which is God’s Word. Basically, the Hebrew draws a picture which directly links the Word of God with Light. Jesus is the Light of the World, he tells his disciples in John chapter eight, verse 12. And, of course, the firs thing which God speaks is, “Let there be Light.” It is as if God is saying, “Let my Word manifest its true nature and illuminate all things.”

The Fragrance of Christ

II Cor. 2:14-16,"But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.  For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life.  And who is adequate for these things?"

We are to God the fragrance of Christ.  When God smells you what does he smell?  Does He smell the fragrance of the anointing upon your life?  Does He smell the Spirit of the Lord is upon you?  What is the fragrance of Christ?  What does the anointing come from on a person's life smell like?

Exodus 30:25,"You shall make of these a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture, the work of a perfumer, it shall be a holy anointing oil."

There are four key ingredients involved that are compounded together with the olive oil (remember Gethsemane means "oil press").  The ingredients are pure myrrh, sweet cinnamon, sweet calamus and cassia.  Each reveals an incredible revelation of God Working with God.

  THE INGREDIENTS

1)  Pure Myrrh  speaks of bitter things or the sufferings of the cross of Christ as an embalming spice.  It speaks of total death to self.  The only thing God wants to smell is Himself.

2)  Sweet Cinnamon speaks of the sweetness of grace.  In the Song of Solomon we see his lips dripping with myrrh and his mouth was most sweet.  Col. 4:6 says to let your speech always be with grace (the divine influence upon the heart and the reflection in the life).  The divine influence of God must be on our lips.  Remember God hears God.

3)  Sweet Calamus speaks of government and order, our position in the right place in the body of Christ releases a beautiful fragrance .  The fragrance of Christian unity.  (Psalms 133)  It also speaks of us knowing how to abide in the righteousness of God

4)  Cassia speaks of true humble anointed worship.  This speaks of us as kings and priests unto God bowing before Him giving all glory  and honor to Him.  It also seen in the cry as in Gal. 4:6 where the Spirit of the son in our hearts cries out Abba Father.
